This page is for things that we have learned about living in an RV. These are either from personal experience or from others that we have met along our journey and have found to be helpful.

**If you can make 4 or 5 trips to the Salvation Army, put clothes in storage and STILL have too much for the RV's closet, you had WAY too many clothes to begin with!

**Our kids can go an entire week with no TV and it won't make their heads explode! (They actually didn't even notice until we mentioned it!)

**Be sure to check your satellite reception BEFORE you lower your jacks, extend your slides and hook everything up. You will always have to move!

**When you decide to take the train into Chicago (1.5 hour ride) on a Sunday afternoon, make sure you check the schedule for the return train so you do not miss the 8:40 by 2 minutes and have to wait 3 hours to catch the next one at 11:30pm.

**Check the location of your picnic table and trees. If it is under a tree, you might want to move it a little or else you might get a surprise extra for dinner from the friendly neighborhood birds!

**Slow down - Fuel mileage goes a LONG way. At 70mph averaging 7mpg, at 65mph averaging 8.5mpg, and it is safer to boot.

Never put bug spray on your legs right after you shave....

Check Cabela’s...many of them have RV parking with a dump station and potable water!

If you own a rig over 26,000 lbs., be sure to check your state’s law about needing a non-commercial Class B license. We weren’t told this when we bought the rig in NY or when we registered it in PA. And be careful, we’ve since met someone who’s dealer told them they didn’t need one, when in fact they did!

Did you know that there a little tabs on the ends of foil/plastic wrap boxes to lock the rolls in so they don’t fall out every time you try to pull a piece off?  Check it out - this is big news...
